Curwens Conduct Mock Employment Trial

The mock Employment Tribunal Panel sitting last night at the University of Hertfordshire finds “Jay Ninety” unfairly dismissed for gross misconduct but apply 100% reduction to the compensatory award.

Last night Kaajal Nathwani of Curwens in conjunction with barristers Karen Moss, Mark Green and Daniel Brown held an audience captivated as they presented a mock employment tribunal.

Learning outcomes included, a guide to the how proceedings are conducted, witness testimony being presented, cross-examination and panel summoning up. 

We also learn, for employers, that not only is it important to have policies and procedures in place in relation to, for example, IT usage and disciplinary and grievance procedures, but those policies need to be followed in the event of a problem. It is also important if there is an employment problem to take full and proper records as records will be used in evidence.
