David heads up the Employment Law department and has expertise in all aspects of employer and employee representation – both contentious and non-contentious.
His work representing and supporting employers has earned him praise from both the private and public sectors including:
- Universities and Colleges of Further Education
- Secondary and primary schools
- Housing associations, small homeless charities
- Law centres
- Theatre companies
- GP practices
- YMCA’s
In addition to general human resources advice, negotiation and the drafting of contracts, agreements and policies, he continues to defend clients in a wide range of employment disputes. These include claims of unfair and wrongful dismissal, as well as whistle blowing and discrimination / harassment and victimisation cases concerning sex, race, disability, sexual orientation and religion and belief.
He also provides talks to local businesses updating them on the changes in employment law and how to avoid employment tribunal claims and is a member of the Employment Lawyer’s Association.

Teresa qualified as a Barrister in 1992 and transferred over to the Roll of Solicitors in January 2004. Teresa has considerable legal experience having worked in the Legal department of a Local Authority for 6 years and subsequently in the Not for Profit Sector and Charitable sector advising on a range of Employment Law disputes. Teresa work in the Voluntary sector also included advising Employers on a range of non-contentious matters, such as drafting contracts, staff handbooks, drafting policies and procedures. Having worked in the public, private and the voluntary sector she is particularly attuned to the needs of each area.

Rebecca is an experienced Employment Law specialist. She regularly advises both Claimant and Respondent clients, delivering a comprehensive employment service. She is a strong litigator and continues to successfully bring and defend Employment Tribunal claims on issues such including unfair dismissal, equality, discrimination, wages and terms and conditions of employment. Rebecca is a skilled negotiator and always gives utmost consideration to the client’s goals. She is also well versed in non-contentious employment law matters such as the review of employment contracts and other employment related documents.
Rebecca read law at the University of Westminster achieving an Upper Second class honours. She was awarded the Alistair Berkeley memorial prize in the final year of her law degree for Philosophy of Law. She then successfully completed a Masters of Law at The University College London. She was privileged to have had the opportunity to gain legal experience in top international law firms for four years before returning to London to achieve a distinction in the LPC at Inns of Court School of Law
Rebecca joined Curwens as a trainee solicitor in 2002 and qualified into the Employment department in 2004. In addition to representing clients, Rebecca prepares and presents seminars on Employment related topics and writes articles on topical Employment matters.
In her private life Rebecca enjoys being with her family and friends. She unwinds by spending time running.

Deborah is an experienced employment specialist and has gained expertise in a broad range of employment issues including unfair dismissal, redundancy, all areas of discrimination, whistle blowing and TUPE.
She has a particular interest in advising high net worth individuals on achieving exit packages / golden handshakes but has also represented a variety of Respondent clients including:

• Secondary and Tertiary Education Colleges
• Solicitors
• Nurseries
• GP Practices
• Construction Companies
• Leisure Providers
Primarily practicing in contentious litigation, in both the Employment Tribunal and EAT, Deborah has also advised both employers and employees on internal pre-action matters, and drafted bespoke contracts and compromise agreements.
She has received praise for her attention to client care and for the continuous support she provides clients with throughout the course of their matters, together with the robust stance she takes in defending her client’s interests
An accomplished negotiator, Deborah continues to achieve excellent settlements for her clients both at pre-action stage and during the course of litigation.
Deborah is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and provides talks to local businesses on topical employment issues.

Kaajal is a solicitor in our employment department and is experienced in both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her interest lies in advising corporate and commercial clients particularly in relation to redundancy, reorganisations and TUPE matters.
Kaajal is experienced in representing employees and successfully defending employers such as Universities, YMCA’s, Firms of Solicitors and Nurseries both in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal and was recently involved in a complex TUPE matter involving international companies. She frequently undertakes negotiations in relation to termination agreements, advises client’s in relation to Unfair and wrongful dismissal, whistle blowing and age, race, sex and disability discrimination / harassment and victimization.
In her spare time Kaajal enjoys reading, going to the theatre, cooking and traveling.
